This is no photo reference sketch drawing for the Cereals Ad Illustration.
I have tried to open this theme in 8 frames.
The main idea behind this ad is NAVY patrolling ship and soldiers.
After the mission and some serious fight with pirates in open waters,
these tough guys coming back on board of the ship
and quietly having a break with the rising sun. One of them is enjoying a "kid" cereal.
Which seems strange to his partner.
So this is very dark, violent and dynamic ad, that reveals very different and calm enjoyable side of reality.

Have to admit I spent 5 to 10 min on this Illustration, most of that time I tried to find my water colour pencils. Another 10 min in photoshop and voila.
Hope not to disappoint, with an empty boat.

I have decided to draw Nepali sadhu, because those guys know how to focus.

Here I show sequence in which I was working on the project.
I also tried to do part of work in Illustrator, but eventually fully switched to PS.
Gradually I reached the point when I had over 40 layers, my PS started to slow down, and at over 50 layers I had to work on 3 separate photoshop documents. Just saving large file can take over a minute.
Last hour or so working on the project was not fun, Leif noted something about been "sick of it", and in the end I felt exactly it.
This is fun project, with all the freedom of creation we have gotten, I am happy with overall result. Although there is a number of elements I would change, redraw, and reposition.
Hope you find it interesting to look at the process, because I like to see the way any work was done from scratch.

This is "wilderness" project for Creative Portfolio Design class.
I admire work of Julien Pacaud, his style is unique. I have attempted to do something similar.
The K2 region of Pakistan is one of the most remote and mountainous places on earth.
Looking at this picture, I would say wilderness is definitively running out of room.
